Inventory Availability Planner gives businesses a clear view of current stock and expected inventory movements in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It helps purchasing, sales and warehouse teams understand what is available, where stock is held, and when shortages may affect fulfilment.
An interactive timeline displays projected inventory by Item, Variant and Location. Switch between daily, weekly and monthly views to explore availability at the level of detail you need. Color-coded stock quantities and movement badges make changes easy to identify, while expandable rows reveal shortages that may be hidden within an Item’s overall balance.
The planner combines posted inventory with outstanding demand and supply from selected sales, purchase and transfer documents. Sales shipments reduce projected availability, purchase receipts increase it, and returns contribute according to their physical inventory effect. Transfers show expected stock leaving the source Location and arriving at the destination Location, helping teams plan availability where it matters.
Select a movement to see the underlying document breakdown, including quantities, dates and document references. Open the related Business Central document directly from the planner to investigate or take action.
Status filters highlight Items that are in stock, out of stock, facing future shortages or lacking expected supply. Search and filter by Item, Variant, Location and Item Category to focus on relevant inventory.
Flexible setup lets businesses select document sources, choose a calendar starting point, configure a two-to-six-month planning timeframe, and determine how blank movement dates are handled. Blocked Items and Variants are excluded, with additional exclusion controls for Items, Variants and Locations. In-transit Locations are omitted so the planner focuses on stock at usable Locations.
Designed for practical use across large Item catalogues, Inventory Availability Planner uses paged Item views and on-demand hierarchy expansion to keep information manageable. It brings stock, demand and supply together in one workspace, supporting informed replenishment and fulfilment decisions.
