Time Off Management

Time Off Management, developed by Binary Lab (Pty) Ltd, is a comprehensive time-off and employee entitlement solution built directly into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It provides organizations with a flexible way to manage employee time off while accommodating different working patterns, entitlement policies and approval requirements.

Employees can view their balances, existing requests and availability through an intuitive My Time Off Calendar, and submit new requests directly from the calendar. A Team Calendar provides visibility of colleagues' planned time off, helping employees and managers coordinate absences more effectively.

The application supports multiple entitlement models, including fixed, weekly, monthly, annual, employment-anniversary and multi-year cycle-based earning. Future requests take projected earnings into account, allowing employees to request time off they are expected to have earned by the requested date without unnecessarily allowing negative balances. 

Configurable Work Calendars and Holiday Calendars ensure time off is calculated according to each employee's actual working pattern. Different calendars can be assigned where employees work weekends, shifts or operate in different regions.

Approval workflows support employee managers, team managers and temporary approval delegation, while Teams, minimum staffing requirements and Blackout Periods help organizations manage operational availability. 

HR can manage requests on behalf of employees who do not use Business Central, perform controlled balance adjustments through the Time Off Journal, and maintain a complete ledger-based audit trail. Permission sets separate Time Off Requester, Time Off Approver and Time Off HR responsibilities.

Optional integration with standard Business Central Employee Absence records and automated entitlement processing through the Job Queue complete a solution designed to manage the full time-off lifecycle within Business Central.
